PAIR OF PUFFINS ON ISLE OF STAFFA SCOTLAND

A photo showing a pair of puffins on the Isle of Staffa which is a popular breeding place for a large colony of puffins. The puffins arrive on Staffa Island around the month of April and prepare their stay for the next couple of months.

During this time the puffins mate and the mother puffins lay one egg. Each puffin parent takes a turn incubating the egg, and when the chick is born, the parents bring food for them. When the month of July comes to an end, it is usually around this time when the puffins leave the island.
